Why at the master test plan level?

There are reasons to include the aligning of test products in the master test plan instead of leaving it to each individual test level:

• It forces test levels to use a uniform method, improving control of the total test process. This is a particularly important argument when external parties execute certain tests.
• It facilitates communication between test levels and overall test management.
• It increases the reusability of the products, not just within a test level but also across test levels.
• The uniform method makes it easier to switch people between test levels.
